Gary Marsh

biography

Born in Sunderland

 

At 16 years of age I studied painting & decorating for 4 years and achieved a City & Guilds while working for a local company.

 

At 20 I studied advanced craft in painting & decorating and achieved an Advanced Craft in City & Guilds.

I also won Advanced decorator of the year.

 

At  25 I left the local company i worked for and started my own business Gary Marsh Quality Decorator.

 

Two years later I stated my first employee.

 

Over the years I have specialised in many types of decorating.

 

In 2013, I gave 9 days of my time to helped out on BBC 1's DIYSOS The Big Build for a local couple whom where having their house specially adapted due to the wife's illness.

In 2017 I gave my time to hang a wall mural in the new bereavement room at Sunderland Hospital for the 4Louis charity. 

4Louis is a UK charity that works across the country to support anyone affected by miscarriage, stillbirth and the death of a baby or child. They also work to improve the care bereaved families receive from health care and other professionals.

In 2019 I proudly won On The Tools Painter & Decorator of the Year Award. A panel of judges selected me for the shortlist, which then went down to a public vote.

In 2021 we celebrated 25 years in business and we won an award at The Painting & Decorating Premier Trophy Awards for a project in Durham.

Again in 2021 we won an award at The Dulux Select Awards for a project in Sunderland 

 

Gary Marsh Quality Decorators continues to build a reputation for providing an unrivalled level of decorating throughout the North East.
